Denmark Ambassador to Kenya Mette Knudsen has lauded President Uhuru Kenyatta for his tough stand on corruption and called for accountability among leaders.
Mette says leaders mentioned in corruption cases should step aside while the court process is ongoing so as not to interfere with investigations.
At the same time Ambassador Mette has urged Kenyans to remain vigilant on how County Governments are spending funds meant for devolution.
Speaking during a tour of West Pokot County to inspect programmes sponsored by the Danish Government, said devolution has so far been a success but called for more accountability.

She visited the Masol conservancy and donated a five million shillings enterprise fund to women, and challenged the pastoralist community to engage in businesses and other income generating activities so as to eradicate poverty.
Mette also urged the Pokot community to embrace conservation and take advantage of bursaries to educate their children.
West Pokot Governor Prof John Lonyang’apuo thanked the Denmark Government for sponsoring several projects within the County saying they have created a positive impact among the community.
He sasid the County Government will work with all stakeholders to ensure the projects are completed.
The Ambassador said the Danish Government has already initiated projects worth an estimated Ksh 15m in West Pokot County this year.
