DP allies under fire for criticising handshake

Politicians supporting the handshake between the President and NASA leaders are faulting those opposing the new found unity between government and opposition as enemies of progress.

The legislators attending a church service in Nairobi ‘s Mwiki Area, faulted the DP over his claims that Odinga was attempting to rock jubilee party from within.

The MPs who have branded themselves “team handshake” were at ACK church in Mwiki as part of Palm Sunday celebrations.

The Legislators poked holes in the statement accusing MPs allied to the DP of attempting to frustrate the President’s agenda of building cohesion.

The legislators were drawn from both Jubilee and NASA said the country’s stability was guaranteed in the post handshake era and cautioned against scheming to divide the current tranquility.

They cautioned their counterparts against opposing the handshake daring those uncomfortable with the new found friendship with the opposition to exit government.

The DP barely a week ago admitted he had turned down opposition leader Raila Odinga’s plea for a truce before the latter reconciled with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
