Deputy President Dr William Ruto says the Government intends to tarmac roads from Eldoret all the way to Lokichogio, and Nakodok the border with South Sudan.
Ruto who was in Lokichogio to launch the construction of the 88-kilometre Kalobeiyei River-Nakodok Road said the road network will boost trade between Kenya and the land locked South Sudan.
The new road Ruto said was part of the 338-kilometre Lokichar-Loichangamatak-Lodwar-Lokichogio-Nadapal road that the government is working on with development partners.
Ruto wound up his three-day tour of Turkana County with a call on leaders to unite and priorities the interests of Kenyans.

He asked leaders to forge a common agenda for the sake of development in the country.
He said the Jubilee administration remains committed in the fight against politics of hatred and tribe.
Area leaders who had accompanied the Deputy President led by Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok, said they will partner with the Government to ensure residents benefit from development projects.
