Kenyans were yet again entertained by a video doing rounds on social media, in which Dr.Khalwale out ran the Police in Kakamega, who were baying for his blood following his attempt to pour water on the area police boss for stopping his rally.
Drama ensued after the former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale poured water on police boss after police officers disrupted his meeting with area politicians on Saturday 18 July.
The meeting was convened at Hamisi Member of Parliament Charles Gimose where police lobbed teargas to disperse the leaders who graced the meeting.
The outspoken former Kakamega Senator, Dr. Boni Khalwale never misses a chance to seek publicity. Today’s encounter with the law follows the other one where he attempted to address an illegal gathering at the Kakamega county’s airstrip.
Police had to storm the venue and hurl a barrage of teargas to disperse the gathering before engaging Khalwale into a running battle. It appears his recent trips to Sugoi were not in vain, his Marathon talent was put to test, however, he did not last long.
Khalwale had convened the meeting on Saturday 6 June in a bid to talk to his fellow constituents over the adverse Covid-19 effects to the county resident as he accused the State of doing little during these trying moments.
The crowd that gathered during Khalwale address were forced to flee and hide in the nearby maize plantations as police officers relentlessly pursued them.
“I am so angry after I learned that the government intended to take food to Navakholo and not Shinyalu… We can accept that the state brings trucks of relief food to give to politicians who are not close to their constituents.
“We all have masks, what we lack is food. We lack food not because we are lazy but because we respect the state. President Uhuru Kenyatta ordered that we should not go to work but stay home,” Khalwale stated.
Khalwale further took a swipe at former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and Central organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary-General Francis Atwoli, accusing them of dividing Western Kenya.
“I will not fight with Wetangula (embattled Ford Kenya leader), I will not fight with Musalia Mudavadi (ANC leader) because what I want is if we all choose to go right, we should keep moving to meet with DP William Ruto.
The leaders who graced today’s meeting include Mumias East Member of Parliament Ben Washiali, Matungu Member of Parliament Justus Murunga, and Khalwale among other political leaders
In the Run up to Kibra by elections, Dr. Khalwale engaged in a running battle with supporters of the Orange democratic movement. If he is not Competing Mashemeji in stone throwing, he will try to out run our Kalenjin brothers.
Perhaps what the people of kakamega want to know is, when will Dr. Khalwale stop engaging in endless drama? Is he fit to be at the helm of Kakamega county? For a highly respected doctor of his caliber, Kakamega people will benefit immensely was he to resume his services inte medical field, especially in the wake of the Corona virus.
