Drama ensued as a rival faction of the Matatu Welfare Association invaded an ongoing presser addressing transport wars in Nairobi County.
“The rival faction is a dissatisfied lot who were not selected to represent the welfare in the ongoing discussion to introduce Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) in the city and we have not been paid by anybody to support the introduction of BRT.” Said vice chairman Matatu Welfare Association,John Katambwi
The welfare further said they are supporting the introduction of the BRT in the city because it will help ease congestion in the city and systematic measure to compensate them is in place.
Nairobi County is planning to face out the 14 seater matatus in the CBD in a bid to de congest the city with the move facing both support and criticism.
