DUO DENY SH20 MILLION FRAUD IN FAKE MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT TENDER.

Two businessmen and company have been charged with an offence of obtaining Sh200 million from directors of Pastel limited by falsely pretending that they had a tender to offer them.

Nobeel Najam alias Hassan and Fredrick Odongo Okoth appeared before Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Kennedy Cheruiyot and denied the charges.

The duo are said to have committed the offence between November 29,2017 using their company trading as Carlsberg International Ltd claiming they had obtained a tender from the ministry of Transport, infrastructure, housing and urban development.

The tender was for the supply of Eq-Angling Tail lines to the Kenya Airport Authority.
The prosecutor told the court that they committed the offence on unknown dates and unknown place, jointly with others not before court. it is alleged that with intent to defraud, and without authority or excuse, made a letter offer of tender Number KPA/022/2017 from ministry of Transport.

They were released on a cash bail of Sh1 million each pending trial.
