- This is because of Premier League stars religious beliefs that prohibit alcohol consumption

- Reigning EPL champions Manchester City will face Watford in next month's FA Cup final

The Football Association in England has now ended the tradition of giving out a congratulatory champagne to winners of the title due to some players' religious beliefs.

As is tradition, winners of the FA Cup title are usually welcomed by a champagne inside the dressing room as a congratulatory gesture by the governing body.

But the gesture will no longer be in existence as the FA board have now taken a decision to stop it so as not to offend players whose religious beliefs forbid alcohol.

FA made it clear that instead, an alcohol-free alternative will be provided to the winners so the successful squad can still spray mock champagne all over the place while in celebration.

“Winning teams will be awarded with non-alcoholic champagne for their celebrations in all FA competitions, starting from this year’s Emirates FA Cup Final.
“This is to ensure that we are as inclusive as possible to players and communities who may be prohibited from alcohol, as well as any players who are under 18,'' An FA spokesman explained according to UK Sun.

The final of the 2019 English FA Cup will be played n May 18, and the encounter will be between Manchester City and Watford.

City are also fighting to retain their Premier League title this season with four games to end the season.
