MOMBASA, Kenya Aug 9 – Kenya is gearing up for General Elections next year in August and is set to hold the first presidential debate on July 12, 2022.
The announcement was made Monday by the President of the Kenya Editors Guild (KEG) Churchil Otieno during a Kenya Media Stakeholders’ Working Group (KMSWG) Consultative meeting with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
“Given that the nomination of for presidential candidates ends on June 10, 2022, we have set the first presidential debate for July 12, 2022 and the second one on July 26, 2022,” he said at the meeting.
