FKF suspends three Kenya Premier League referees for misconduct

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has suspended three Kenya Premier League referees after a review of questionable decisions they made during selected KPL matches they officiated.

Hosea Omondi and Joshua Achilla will serve their suspension for a period not exceeding three rounds of Kenya Premier League matches while Collins Opiyo will be out for four rounds.

The FKF ad hoc committee in its ruling found that Joshua Achilla made two offside decisions during the Gor Mahia vs AFC Leopards match that was played at Kasarani Stadium.

Achilla was also accused of denying Ulinzi Stars a goal through a wrong decision. Ulinzi was playing Sofapaka.

KPL referee Hosea Omondi was faulted for not sending off Gor Mahia goalkeeper Shaban Odhoji for handling the ball outside the penalty area deliberately denying Sugar Sugar a goal scoring opportunity.

Hosea Omondi, on the other hand, was faulted for failing to send off Gor Mahia FC goalkeeper Shaban Odhoji for denying Sony Sugar a goal scoring opportunity by a deliberate handball outside the penalty area.

Collins Opiyo, who is serving a four-match ban was suspended for awarding a questionable penalty to Sofapaka in the tie against KCB played at the Machakos Stadium where KCB lost to Sofapaka.

Collins Opiyo also failed to appear before the Committee when summoned for hearing.

The committee also as imposed sanctions to Nick Indieka to three rounds of the FKF National Super league matches.

Indieka is accused of disrespecting the FKF Nairobi West Branch officials during their referee’s seminar.

Indieka confessed to having incited the referees against the Branch officials during.
