KUBAI’S ACTIONS ON 6TH SEPT LED TO MY UNFAIR TERMINATION
The journey towards bringing back BIFU to workers is reaching climax as other stakeholders are determined to help liberate bankers from the hands of court consents entrepreneurs.
Fellow bankers, I was terminated on 9th Nov 2018 for leading my team as the chairman in opposing attempts by Isaiah Kubai-Secretary General BIFU to get into a consent agreement with KCB HR in an on-going Performance Appraisal case. Colleagues it is sad that as the chairman of the KCB Central Staff Committee I had to defend workers against the actions of the Secretary-General-BIFU to the extent of my termination. I would still be in employment if Kubai did not attempt to get into a consent.
Mr. Kubai called my vice chairman Nyakondo in celebration when he heard that I was called for disciplinary for telling workers that the planned consent agreement would not be confirmed. He even had the audacity of telling Nyakondo that” wacha aende kwa kisu”. This is the person who is supposed to defend bankers.
Comrades, today Stanchart has no chairman since Alphonse Were left and KCB has no chairman since I was terminated and the list will go on in other banks.
Fellow bankers do we still have to wait for Duncan Muthusi and Charles Mbala to be terminated in the same trend followed with flimsy. This is what is going to happen if we don’t act now. BIFU wants weak leaders so that it can always determine the fate of bankers the way it wants just like the attempts to consent on KCB case. It is for these reasons that we have taken the risks and leadetship in bringing the long awaited for change in our trade union.
As communicated earlier, our alliances are growing and tomorrow we shall be joined in our demonstrations with a civic society interested in liberating bankers from the abuse of office by the BIFU officials. KUNA MAHANDAMANO KESHO!
