Equity Bank on Monday, August 5 appointed its long serving director Gerald Warui as the new Managing Director.
Warui's appointment follows the bank's board acceptance of Polycarp Igathe's resignation.
Warui becomes the lender's fourth MD in its 35 years of existence. His appointment is subject to Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) approval.
He is set to take up the MD position from Igathe who will rejoin his previous employer, Vivo, to take up a newly created role as Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Africa.
