National women’s Soccer team Harambee Starlets reported back to camp Thursday ahead of the upcoming 2020 Olympic qualifier against Zambia slated for 8th November in Nairobi and 11th in Zambia.
The Kenyan girls can now breath a sigh of relief after the government pledged support ahead of the crucial fixture.
The team’s preparations for the Olympic qualifiers were left in limbo after Football Kenya Federation (FKF) disbanded Starlets training camp citing financial constraints.
However, the government has moved in quickly and assured the team of their support ahead of the two legged tie.

According to FKF, the government through the National Sports fund has already released 3.9 million shillings.
The money is part of the 17 million shillings budget that FKF requested for Harambee Stars’ CHAN 2020 home and way fixture against Tanzania.
Starlets have so far beaten Malawi and powerhouse Ghana in their quest to make their maiden appearance at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
