Kenya were held to a 1-1 draw by Rwanda in their 2022 World Cup qualification clash staged at Nyamirambo Stadium in Kigali on Sunday, 5th September.
Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga scored the opener in the ninth minute before Abdul Rwatubyaye cancelled it out in the 21st minute.
This was Kenya’s second consecutive draw in Group E, having been played out a frustrating goalless draw against neighbours Uganda on Wednesday, 1st September, at the Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi.
The results leave the Stars second two points behind leaders Mali, who will play away to Uganda in their second game on Monday, 6th September.
Rwanda, who suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Mali in their group opener at Adrar Stadium, are fourth-placed in the group with a point.
Jacob ‘Ghost’ Mulee’s men will now shift their focus to their next Group E fixture against Mali while Rwanda will play against Uganda in October.
