Thursday January 24, 2019-In 1976, Kenya government invited South
African cardiologist, Dr Christian Bernard, to access the health status of the
Kenya founding father, Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, who was ailing for some time.
then Attorney General, Charles Mugane Njonjo, was to assess the health of President
Jomo Kenyatta and quietly give an educated guess on how much longer the elderly
leader had to go.
Dr Bernard was summoned by Njonjo and former late spymaster, James Kanyotu who were
waiting him at Harambee House.
Mzee had two years, tops, to live.
a dinner in honour and it was during this time that Dr Bernard wept when he
knew his host has only two years to live.

later, Mzee Kenyatta died and vice President Daniel arap Moi took over and rule
Kenya for 24 years.
