News, Politics 04:17 Wednesday January 2, 2019 - National Super Alliance (NASA) leader, Raila Odinga, has reportedly formed a formidable team as he continues to prepare for a stab at the presidency in 2022.
Although the 73 -year old veteran politician has asked Kenyans to stop linking him to the 2022  succession debate, sources close to him say the man has acquired a new team of advisers and has left out some of the seasoned and long-term trusted lieutenants such as Senator James Orengo. For many years, Orengo was the chief legal and political adviser to Raila but the ODM leader left him out when he entered into negotiations with President Kenyatta. Over the last few months, Orengo has been watching Raila Odinga’s fierce political moves on TV like any other ordinary Kenyan. To replace Orengo, Raila has been holding many meetings with Jubilee Party Chairman, Raphael Tuju. Tuju's palatial home is adjacent to Raila's home in Karen and sources said the two have been having many meetings since the time of the handshake. Raila, Tuju and Jubilee Party vice chairman, David Murathe, have been holding meetings and political pundits say this is the group that is ruining Deputy President William Ruto’s presidential ambitions in 2022. Murathe and Tuju are close confidants of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
