Hospitalised Moses Kuria Set to Seek Specialised Treatment Abroad

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria is set to seek specialised treatment abroad.

Kuria, who is currently admitted at the Karen Hospital, has been recuperating after suffering burns on his legs.

The lawmaker claimed that the serious injuries were caused by an electric blanket he bought to massage his legs after rigorous political activities. According to him, the gadget cost Ksh250,000.

“I was traveling and getting nub and tired and so this guy managed to convince me. I thought it was authorized and it was meant to do some blow burning of my feet,” he said.

A few days after using, he realized his legs were getting damaged and sought medical attention immediately.

He has already undergone at least three surgeries.
However, his health has changed much although he is in a stable condition.

K24 reported that Kuria, who has been hospitalised for more than a month, will jet off either to China or India for corrective surgery.

“Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria is in good condition but he is expected to travel overseas for specialised treatment,” a source said.

The MP vowed to have the company that sold the medical device investigated by the National Assembly Health Committee and push Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe to take action against the firm, which has been banned in Texas (United States) for selling sub-standards gadgets.

He is also planning to sue the directors of the company for damages.
A response from the seller after the allegations read: “The product was purchased by one of Moses Kuria’s friends and we did not know that he has pre-existing health conditions.”
