I Will Accept Outcome of The Elections, DP Ruto Admits



Deputy President William Ruto has pledged to accept the outcome of the 9th August Elections.

Speaking during the 19th National Prayer Breakfast held at the Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi on Thursday, 26th May DP Ruto said he will ensure that his team maintains peace during the elections.
“We have the best team, but I believe whoever will be elected in this election will be by the will of God and we will respect it as expressed by the will of Kenyans,” he said.

He noted that they will do everything possible to make sure that the elections are peaceful.

“Let us go to this election without the debt of hurt and the debt of forgiveness. We will do everything in our power to make sure the election is peaceful,” he added.

DP Ruto said the election should not be a matter of life and death instead it should be considered as an opportunity for Kenyans to elect their leaders.

He challenged his competitor and Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Alliance presidential aspirant Raila Odinga to commit to peaceful elections.

And in a break with protocol, the Deputy President invited Martha Karua, in the absence of Azimio La Umoja Presidential candidate Raila Odinga to make some remarks much to the appreciation of those present.

Karua said she was there representing Raila and called on all leaders to commit to a peaceful election in August.

“Our constitution acknowledges the supremacy of God. I pray that after this prayer, our action will match our words, let’s compete with ideas and not insults. Let’s embrace value-driven campaigns. Prayers without action are not real,” she said.
