Senegal international Idrissa Gana Gueye has sealed a sensational move to French giants, Paris Saint-Germain.

PSG have since confirmed the signing of the Everton midfielder on a four-year deal for fee reported to be in the region of £28 million.

"Paris Saint-Germain is pleased to announce the signing of Idrissa Gueye. The midfielder has signed a four-year deal until 30 June 2023," the French club announced in a statement on Tuesday, July 30.

Gueye is understood to have jetted to Paris on Sunday night, July 28, before undergoing a medical that saw him pen a lucrative deal.

Everton boss Marco Silva is said to have attempted to convince Gueye to stay at but a move to PSG was too good for the Senegalese to turn down.

The midfielder joined the Goodinson outfit in the summer of 2016 from Aston Villa after former chief European scout Ian Atkins alerted the club to the £7.2m buy-out clause in his contract.

The 29-year-old now joins a long list of Senegalese players to ply their trade with the Ligue One champions.

OptaJoe records the former Lille star made more tackles (395) and interceptions (218) than any other player in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, he was impressive too during the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, helping Senegal reach the finals where they eventually lost to Algeria to claim the silver medal.
