DAILY POST: IED explosion near Odeon Cinema Nairobi CBD leaves one with serious injuries. Editor's Choice, News 10:36 Saturday, January 26, 2019- One person has sustained serious injuries after an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was detonated by a suspected terrorist near Odeon Cinema in Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD).


A man said to be of Somali origin hired a trolley (mkokoteni) to carry a box suspected to have contained the IED. Central OCPD, Robinson Thuku, confirms that a trolley pusher was given luggage in a handbag to take to Kenya Cinema but content exploded. Anti-terror police have secured the area and urged the public to be vigilant.

This comes days after heavily armed Al-Shabaab terrorists stormed the posh Dusit D2 Hotel in Riverside Nairobi and killed 21 people.
