Interviews to fill 3600 internship positions in government ministries, departments and agencies will start today (Tuesday).

In a statement, PSC said the exercise, to be conducted throughout the country, will run until September 11.

Public Service Commission chairperson Stephen Kirogo accompanied by CEO Simon Rotich will launch the exercise at Rift Valley Institute of Science and Technology in Nakuru county Tuesday.

PSC Deputy Director of Communications Browne Kutswa in a statement said the commission has dispatched several teams led by commissioners to various centres across the country to interview over 8000 shortlisted candidates who applied for the positions that were advertised in the press in July this year.

Adding that the Public Service Internship Programme (PSIP) was created by the Commission this year with the support of the National Assembly which allocated 1 billion shillings to roll out the programme during the current financial year.

Kutswa said the programme is designed to provide hands-on experience to build upon skills learned in class and enhance youth development and employability.
