The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) Board Thursday traversed Marsabit County to assess security preparedness and accountability procedures as the country approaches the General Elections.
The team which was led by Chairperson Anne Makori also paid the Marsabit Multi-Agency Security team led by the County Commissioner a courtesy call at Marsabit County Headquarters.
The meeting explored on strategies to sustain Police-Public partnership in areas that will positively impact the security and safety of residents of the entire Marsabit County.
The Chairperson in addition commended the team for the exemplary performance of duty and particularly in protecting life and property.
She assured the officers of her steadfast support as long as they operate within the law.
Speaking during the meeting, the County Commissioner thanked the Chairperson and assured her that the security team will continue working tirelessly to ensure that peace and security are restored in the County.
Later the regional coordinator of IPOA Eastern, conducted several meetings with the Quick Response Unit (QRU), Rapid Deployment Unit (RDU) and Anti-Stock Theft (ASTU) on how to restore public confidence in Policing operations through professionalism by observing rule of law.
