Kenyans banned from visiting Europe

Visitors from Kenya are set to remain banned from visiting 31 European countries as the continent opens up its borders on 01 July 2020 after successfully containing Covid-19 pandemic.

The decision was arrived at after a comprehensive assessment the epidemiological situation in different countries which established that Kenya is yet to meet the threshold.

Only visitors from countries believed to be ‘safe’ of the highly-contagious coronavirus will be allowed into Europe.

According to SchengenVisaInfo.com, only citizens from 14 countries will be allowed to enter Europe.

The countries include; Algeria, Australia, Canada, Georgia, Japan, Montenegro, Morocco, New Zealand, Rwanda, Serbia, South Korea, Thailand, Tunisia, and Uruguay.

6,366 cases have so far been reported in Kenya with 148 deaths and 2039 cases.

31 countries in the European Union are set to start lifting travel restrictions that were put in place to contain the virus.

The move is aimed at saving the European tourism season that was badly shaken by the virus.
