Kenyans celebrate Origi's heroics against Barca ▷ Kenya News

Divock Origi, son of former Kenya international footballer Mike Origi, led Liverpool to one of Champions League's greatest ever semi-final comebacks after beating Barcelona 4-0.

The Belgian footballer with Kenyan roots was on fire on Tuesday night, May 7, scoring a brace that booked Liverpool a ticket to the final in Madrid.

Kenyans were not left out of the celebrations and proudly reminded the world of Origi's East African heritage while joining in on celebrating the English club's emphatic win.

"1997 Mike Okoth opens the scoring for Kenya and nets the 4th in a 4-3 comeback win against Burkina Faso in a World Cup qualifier. Though he scored a hatrick.
"2019 son Divock Origi opens the scoring for Liverpool; nets the 4th in a 4-3 comeback win against Barcelona," sports personality Carol Radull tweeted.

Following a double injury blow to Mohammed Salah and Roberto Firmino, Origi made a rare start and stepped up for Liverpool in unimaginable.

He scored the Reds opening and closing goal in the second leg encounter played at Anfield.

The first goal allowed Liverpool the necessary momentum to keep scoring while his final goal sealed victory for the reds.
