The 100 day Rapid Response Initiative (RRI) programme is set to jolt key deliverables including the expansion of Gusii Stadium, general beautification of Kisii town, opening of Roads and upgrade of water supply ahead of the June 1 57th Madaraka Day Celebrations.
According to Governor James Ongwae, the RRI exercise is aimed at offering better services to the people as enshrined in in the County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP).
RRI is being used in counties in the process of planning as well as make decisions to achieve certain targets attached to performance contracts.
“Through RRI we must cascade targets down to departmental budgets and galvanise teams. As an administration, the process gives us tools to focus on results,” said Ongwae.

The team leaders must experts understanding the expected targets, financing and the flagship projects to be undertaken.
The cleaning and streamlining of the county’s recruitment process will form part of the 100 days RRI exercise.

The newly recruited county public service board will consider career progression and promotions within the said period.
“As a county government, we have embraced this mode of operation to help serve residents in a satisfactory manner,” said Ongwae.

The programme in Kisii is being led by Emmanuel Lubembe, a consultant on improving service delivery in counties.
