KPLC Restores Power Supply in Some Parts of The Country

The Kenya Power and Lighting (KPLC) has restored power supply in some parts of the country following a nationwide outage that was experienced on Tuesday morning, 11th January.

In a statement, the company said Nairobi, Western Kenya, Mt Kenya, North Rift, South Nyanza, and Central Rift areas has been restored.

The company said that its team is still working to restore the power supply in the remaining areas affected by the outage.

However, KPLC has not given a timeframe within which the power supply will be fully restored in all parts of the country.

KPLC announced the nationwide power outage following the collapse of towers on the Kiambere-Embakasi high voltage transmission power line at 10:45 am.

“We have lost power supply due to collapsed towers at the Kiambere – Embakasi high voltage transmission power line at 10:45 am this morning. We wish to apologise to our customers for the inconveniences caused,” KPLC said in a statement.
