Kenya’s national carrier, Kenya Airways (KQ) has made a total of KSh214 million in revenues in the month of April, from its cargo business.

According to the airline’s CEO, Allan Kilavuka, the airline made 53 cargo flights in April, after the government suspended all international passenger flights as a measure to curb the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Towards mid April, the airline exported 40 tons of fresh fruits and vegetables to London using one of its passenger planes (Boeing 787 Dreamliner) that was converted into a cargo plane.
