Manchester United has announced the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus on a two-year deal.

The 36-year-old Portuguese star returns to Old Trafford 12 years after leaving the club to join Real Madrid

“Manchester United is delighted to confirm that the club has reached agreement with Juventus for the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo, subject to agreement of personal terms, visa and medical,” Man United announced in a statement on Friday, 27th August.

United’s rivals Manchester City had looked to be one of the favourites to land the former Real Madrid player but earlier today it was widely reported they had pulled out of the race.

Cristiano, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner is one of the most decorated footballers in the world, winning league titles in England, Spain and Italy.

He has won over 30 major trophies during his career, including five UEFA Champions League titles, four FIFA Club World Cups, seven league titles and the European Championship for his native Portugal.

In his first spell for Manchester United, Ronaldo scored 118 goals in 292 games.
