- The Nairobi governor wanted to talk about her quarrel with Woman Rep Esther Passaris
- He stared making wild accusations against her but she was not present to defend herself
- The host was forced to end the interview prematurely after attempts to stop the governor from attacking Passaris failed
- Sonko and Passaris' spat started during Madaraka Day celebrations when she accused him of ignoring her calls, among other claims
When Nairobi governor Mike Sonko turned up for an interview with a local TV station, it was clear he came prepared to defend allegations made against him by Nairobi woman representative Esther Passaris during the Madaraka Day celebrations on June 1.
From the very onset, it looked like the county boss wanted to discuss nothing else, not even his development record in Nairobi, but his tiff with the woman rep who was not present at the time to defend herself.
Attempts by the host of the popular Citizen TV's talk show which is usually held on every Wednesday at night did little to stop the governor from raising the thorny subject, prompting the Royal Media Services (RMS) to end the interview prematurely.
"Due to standards and quality control here at Royal Media Services governor it looks like we cannot continue with this interview," the host announced.
In response, Sonko accused the station of being one sided and shying away from what he termed as the real facts after he was denied opportunity to air his issues with Passaris.
"Yes because you are one-sided, you are shying away from the real facts," Sonko said as the interview ended a few minutes after it started.
