DAILY POST: MURATHE maintains RUTO is a thief and KIKUYUs will not vote for his presidency in 2022 – We better vote for RAILA ODINGA News, Politics 04:17 Wednesday January 2, 2019 - Jubilee Party Vice Chairman, David Murathe, has once again poured cold water on Deputy President William Ruto’s Presidential bid in 2022, saying he is not fit for President.
In an exclusive interview with a local daily on Tuesday, Murathe, who is also the former Gatanga MP, said Ruto is a patented thief of public money and if he is given a chance to lead the country he will loot  all the money. “Huyu mtu ukimuachia dakika kidogo unaona kile anafanya. Sasa ukipatia yeye hii kiti si kutakuwa kubaya? (You can see what this man can do with the little time he has been given. It will be bad if he is given the seat),” Murathe said in a phone interview. Murathe's remarks seemed to suggest that Jubilee was no longer keen on Ruto as President Uhuru Kenyatta’s successor. However, some leaders led by Kirinyaga Governor, Anne Waiguru, have called for the ouster of Murathe as Jubilee vice chair saying he is a divisive leader who should not hold such a position. But in a quick rejoinder, Murathe said he is not going anywhere until Jubilee Party elections are held in 2020.
