DAILY POST: MUTAHI NGUNYI may be arrested for stealing NYS money – See how he abused DCI GEORGE KINOTI and DPP NOORDIN HAJI 03:21 Saturday January 26, 2019-Renowned political analyst, Prof Mutahi Ngunji, has praised Chief Justice, David Maraga, for lecturing Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI), George Kinoti and Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Noordin Haji.
Kinoti and Haji had been criticising the Judiciary accusing it of issuing orders favouring murder and corruption suspects. But speaking on Friday at the Bomas of Kenya during the Multi-Sectoral National Anti-Corruption Conference, Maraga asked the two  to stop arresting suspects on Fridays. "We are not going to win the war against corruption by Friday arrests…I do not want to appear like I am in a blame game but let the truth be told," Maraga said. “Stop Friday arrests and blame games,” Maraga added. Following Maraga’s comments, Ngunyi said the CJ made the two look like infamous KANU youth wingers during the Nyayo era. "Maraga made the DCI, DPP, AG and EACC look like KANU youth wingers. The war on graft will not be won using bells and whistles," Ngunyi said on Saturday. “Friday arrests are a public cover up for prosecution incompetence. Haji and Kinoti are now on trial in the Court of public opinion."Ngunyi added. Mutahi is among corrupt suspects who were arrested in 2016 in connection with stealing billions of shillings from the National Youth Service (NYS).
