Nandi County Senator Samson Cherargei was arrested by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations early Tuesday morning.

The lawmaker who is facing charges of ethnic contempt and incitement to violence underwent further questioning and was later arraigned in court before he was released on bail.

He claimed that the statement he made meant that they would meet the people criticising Ruto at the ballot in 2022.
