The Sabaot community has welcomed Trans Nzoia gubernatorial aspirant George Natembeya move to name his running mate from the Community.
Sabaot leaders drawn from Trans Nzoia and Bungoma counties say they will now support the former Rift Valley regional commissioner George Natembeya bid after he nominated Philomena Bineah Kapkor as his running mate.
Led by former MP Samuel Moiben and five MCAs from the region, the leaders commended Natembeya for the choice saying he has lived up to his promise of reserving the slot for the community which is historic.
Enbess parliamentary aspirant Alwin Sasia said they will mobilise the community behind Natembeya’s candidature saying he is the best suited to lead the County.
Endebess MCA Patrick Kisiero on the other hand called on those who did not make it for the position from the community to support the duo instead of joining rival camps.
Kinyoro MCA Lawrence Mokosu called on women in the region to back Natembeya saying the move to select a female running mate proves that he is committed to achieving the elusive two third gender rule.
