- Ahmed Musa, Awaziem and Odion Ighalo have all been declared fit for the clash
- Super Eagles are looking for their fourth AFCON title in Egypt
Super Eagles trio of Ahmed Musa, Odion Ighalo and defender Chidozie Awaziem have been declared fit to face Algeria in AFCON 2019 semifinal clash on Sunday, July 14.
There were reports that these three players would not be fit for Nigeria's next AFCON 2019 game against Algeria due to the knocks they suffered against South Africa.
However Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr is confident his men will be ready for action against the Desert Foxes.
“Odion Ighalo has a calf injury, Ahmed Musa has adductor while Chidozie Awaziem coped ankle,
“But the team doctor has assured me that the said players will be ready and fit to play in the semi-finals,” Rohr told SportingLife
Ighalo remains joint top scorer in the 32nd edition with three goals in the tournament so far.
Ahmed Musa was superb for Nigeria against Bafana Bafana in the quarterfinal, but the former Kano Pillars man was replaced in the second half with Moses Simon.

Defender Awaziem has also been instrumental for Nigeria in this competition since he replaced Shehu Abdullahi at the right back.
Super Eagles media officer Toyin Ibitoye however told reporters in Egypt that these three players are now good to go against Algeria.
“Everyone is fit for the game against Algeria. We pray not to have any issues during our last training ahead of Sunday’s match,'' he said.
