Nikhil Sachania relishing his WRC Safari Rally chance in this yea's rally

Nikhil Sachania is raring to go after being cleared to race in this year's WRC Safari Rally set for June 24th-27th Naivasha

Rally driver Nikhil Sachania is set to become the first paraplegic driver to compete in the WRC Safari rally scheduled from 24-27 of June.

His entry has already been approved by the FIA and he is only waiting for a certificate of adaptation which is provided by the FIA for vehicles not in compliance with corresponding technical regulations due to adaptation required for a physically challenged driver.

Nikhil says he has already done the modifications to conform with the FIA requirements for his Mitsubishi evolution 10 after receiving a safety requirement grant from their Disability and Accessibility Commission and is only waiting for their approval

Nikhil has completed in among others 6 safari rallies as part of the Africa Rally Championship and managed to make it to the finish except for one

He has had his fair share of success in the Kenya National Rally Championship and hopes for a good outing in his debut WRC safari rally where he will be navigated by his close friend Deep Patel.

Meanwhile, Safari Rally CEO Phineas Kimathi has hinted that they  developing Covid-19 protocols for this year’s Safari Rally spectators.
