Wednesday, January 23, 2019 – The gallant General
Service Unit (GSU) officer killed in the Dusit D2 terror attack last week will be
accorded a heroic send off according to Inspector
General of Police, Joseph Boinnet.

Boinnet revealed that the Police
Service is already building a house for the family of the late Japhet Ndunguja
Nuru at the officer’s rural home in Kimala village in Taita Taveta County.
The National Youth Service is
undertaking the construction of the house, using free labour from inmates in a nearby
prison.
“We are catering for all the funeral
expenses of this gallant officer who died in the line of duty as per our
Service Standing Orders,” Boinnet said Tuesday.
“I’ve given orders that the body is taken home by helicopter on
Friday and I’ve planned to personally attend the funeral on Saturday. CS (Fred)
Matiangi is also planning to attend.”
“We’ve even gone beyond
usual policy and at the moment we are building a house for the family and this
is being done by the National Youth Service who are undertaking the work.”
Interior CS Dr. Fred Matiang’i has also personally visited parents
of the late officer to condole with them.
