Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has flexed its muscles on errant party MPs, kicking out Jomvu MP Badi Twalib who is a close confidant of DP Ruto.
The axe fell on the Jomvu MP today with the orange party replacing him as the party’s chairman of the ODM party in his constituency.
Twalib has been replaced by Mikindani ward Member of the County Assembly Renson Juma Thoya in acting capacity until elections are held.
The party made the move after establishing that the MP has abandoned the ODM camp and joined DP Ruto’s camp, actively participating in his rallies and advancing his 2022 agenda at a time when he should be focusing on managing the party affairs in his constituency.
The changes were announced by ODM’s Mombasa branch chairman Geoffrey Busaka who noted that had moved on to join the rival camp.
Busaka stated that Twalib was lured by goodies from ODM’s competitors and ditched the Orange party.
This is the second huddle to come in the MP’s way, having been swept aside during the National Super Alliance (NASA) purge in the national assembly that was effected on May 28.
Twalib was shown the door out of the Budget and Appropriations Committee during the changes that affected a total of nine rebel MPs.
The legislator blamed his woes on his close ties with the DP, maintaining that he will stay put.
“If my relationship with DP Ruto is why I have been de-whipped, then I respect the decision. Junet Mohamed has just done his job,” stated Twalib.
