The Ministry of Health on Tuesday, 2nd November, confirmed 70 new Covid-19 cases from tests carried out in the last 24 hours. This brings the country’s Covid-19 caseload to 253,409.
In a press statement, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said that the cases were detected from 5,755 samples tested within the same period, raising the total to 2,714,255. The country’s positivity rate is at 1.2 per cent.
Of the new cases, 65 are Kenyans while five are foreigners with 33 being male while 37 are females. The youngest is a three-year-old child while the oldest is 97.
He confirmed that 36 patients have recovered from the disease, 29 patients are from the home-based isolation and care, while seven are from various health facilities. The total number of recoveries 246,957.
Sadly, one patient succumbed to the deadly virus, bringing the death toll to 5,282.
