The last victim in the heinous Kitengela murders was laid to rest on Saturday, August 21.

Nicholas Musa, 29, was laid to rest at his father’s home in Mwala, Machakos county.

It was an emotional service as family and friends eulogised the young man.

His father, Patrick Musa said he had forgiven the attackers, but insisted that justice must be served for his son and his three other friends who were murdered alongside him on August 8.

“I have forgiven him and said that if anyone will show me the way, it should be through the government. I don’t want any other way,” the dispirited father said.

Nicholas’s sister, Lucy Mutende, was all tears as she remembered the moments she shared with her brother.

“It is very painful that you are not here with us, but I know I will always feel your presence within us. Rest easy and always know that we will always remember you, we shall forget you,” she said, as she broke down to tears.

Nicholas together with Fredrick Mureithi and his younger brother Victor Mwangi as well as Mike Onduso were hacked to death by herders who suspected they were cattle thieves.

They had packed their sports bikes at the Kisanju area as they tried to repair one that had developed a broken down.

Before meeting their deaths, the friends spent the day celebrating Victor’s 25th birthday.

Mike was buried on Thursday in Nyamira while Fredrick and Victor were interred in Mayu village, Nyandarua county on Friday.

Only Children

The brothers’ mother, Lucy Wanjiru, cried bitterly as she watched her only two children being covered in the grave.

“When I was sad, you made all efforts to make me happy. We had a special bond that even death cannot break. Fred and Victor, you were very bold and special to me. The apple of my eye.

“If tears could bring you back, I have cried for you, if words would bring you back, I have tried, words cannot express my loneliness and this painful experience. This load is too heavy, I will always cry for you. Continue watching over me as you rest with the angels,” she said in her emotional tribute.
