Paris Saint-Germain claimed their first silverware on the 2019-20 campaign after coming from behind to defeat Rennes in the French Super Cup on Saturday, August 3, at Shenzhen Universiade Sports Centre.
French Cup champions Rennes netted the opening goal of the contest after 13 minutes, after Adrien Hunou scored off a cross from Benjamin Bourigeaud.

In the 31st minute, PSG came close to levelling through defender Thilo Kehrer, but his headed effort got over the crossbar as the Ligue 1 champions went in search of a needed equalizer.
Frenchman Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani also missed goal scoring moments to level before the end of the first half.

In the second half, PSG equalized before the 60th minute, after Mbappe fired home from close range from Sarabia’s decent first-time pass.
Second-half substitute Angel di Maria made his introduction count as the former Man United star gave PSG a 73rd minute lead from a well-taken free-kick.
In the closing moments of the game, PSG brought on Thiago Silva with eight minutes remaining on the watch, with Rennes pushing for a leveler.
Despite Rennes bid to get back into the contest PSG held on to their slim lead to win the Super Cup.
