The Public Service Commission PSC is lobbying for an increased budgetary allocation to enable it discharge its mandate more effectively.
During a two-day Strategic Workshop for Public Service Commission and the Members of the National Assembly Departmental Committee on Administration and National Security in Mombasa, The Commission’s Chairman Stephen Kirogo said more funds are needed to meet the PSC’s expanded mandate and also provide improved services to the public.
The Commission wants Parliament to increase the allocation from the current Ksh 1.2 billion.The commission argues more funding is needed if the commission is achieve its transformative agenda.
The Commission also wants solutions on fundamental issues like succession management, performance management, productivity in the service delivery and automation of key services addressed.

National Assembly security committee chair Paul Koinange also challenged the commission to support the Government in the fight against corruption in the Country.
In the 2018/19 budgetary allocation, Public Service Commission budget was reduced by 600 million shillings following doubts over the projected revenue collection.
