Raila Appoints Ex-KTN Journalist Head of Campaign Secretariat

Media Personality and Former KTN investigative Journalist Dennis Onsarigo has been appointed as Raila Odinga’s Press Secretary ahead of the 2022 General Election.

In a statement issued on Sunday, 13th February Raila said Onsarigo will coordinate all media relations of the campaign secretariat.

“It is with pleasure that I announce Mr. Dennis Onsarigo as the new press secretary of my 2022 campaign secretariat.

“He will coordinate all media relations needs of the Raila Odinga 2022 campaign secretariat, including media engagement and management, media liaison between the secretariat and coalition partners, and work closely with mainstream media in the dissemination of news and information,” the former premier said in a statement.

Onsarigo is a former investigative journalist who has worked for both Nation Media Group and Standard Group.

He has also worked as the Director of Communications at the Taita Taveta County Government where he was the link between the County/National governments and the Council of Governors.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Political Science, a diploma in Broadcast Journalism and he is currently pursuing a Masters of Arts in governance, peace and security.

His appointment comes just a few days after former Citizen TV News anchor Hussein Mohamed was appointed head of Communications in DP William Ruto’s presidential campaign team.
