Speaking during a funeral service in Kisumu on Saturday, Raila, who is also the ODM party leader, attacked the church for willingly accepting corruption proceeds in fundraisers.  He said many churches in Kenya are accepting dirty money from corrupt politicians like Deputy President William Ruto. “The church is busy congratulating them, yet these people are embezzling funds meant for development.” "They sit down when money is brought to them in huge sacks, claiming these leaders are working hard and investing in heaven," Raila said. About the Arror and Kamwerer dams scandal, Raila Odinga said Ruto is behind the Sh 21 billion loot. “People must be held accountable. If you stole you stole alone so carry your own cross," Raila noted.
