Homeboyz programmes controller Shaffie Weru is mourning the death of the late footballer Kevin Oliech. For the longest time, Shaffie has always been close to the Oliech Family.

Over the weekend he visited the Oliech’s at their residence in Nairobi and signed the condolence book.

Saying his goodbyes, Shaffie shared a photo of the visit and paid tribute to Kevin who lost the battle to cancer on Sunday, August 16.

Shaffie wrote, “Rest in power My Brother! Until we meet again #KevinOliechOpiyo”

‘Naskia wamefungua airports…’ Kevin Oliech’s last words to brothers

While mourning his brother, Dennis Oliech said he became numb after getting the sad news

‘TO MY BROTHER KEVIN. I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHERE TO START THERE IS SO MUCH I WANT TO SAY BUT I DON’T THINK I WILL EVER MANAGE TO SAY IT ALL IN ONE DAY. YESTERDAY I COULDN’T EVEN DO ANYTHING BUT CRY, MY BODY WAS NUMB. ONE THING I KNOW IS OUR BROTHERHOOD WILL FOREVER BE IN MY HEART UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN BROTHER,’

He went on to describe the late Kevin as a warrior

FOR THE PAST WEEK, WE HAD DEEP CONVERSATIONS ABOUT LIFE AND DESPITE YOUR PAIN YOU STILL TRIED TO BE POSITIVE. YOU TOLD ME THAT IF ONE DAY I AM TO TALK TO PEOPLE ABOUT YOU I SHOULD TELL THEM HOW YOU WERE FULL OF LIFE AND THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT I WILL DO BRO. KEVIN, YOU ARE A WARRIOR AND YOU FOUGHT UNTIL THE END. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH, BROTHER. REST IN PEACE BRO.

Rest in peace Keving Oliech!
