Tottenham Hotspur attacker Son Heung-min has donated a sum of £100,000 to the victims of a recent wildfire in South Korea.

Thousands of people were said to have been evacuated from the affected areas after a huge fire believed to have started by a spark from a transformer near Goseong County.

The unfortunate incident left about 135 homes destroyed , while two lives were lost due to winds that swept the flames across the area.

Son however said that he believes the gesture was nothing compared to the pain his countrymen and women in the affected region are facing.

"It's nothing compared to what the victims have sacrificed,” he said, as quoted by Goal.
Although I'm living abroad, I know what's happening in my home country. I think it's something I should do when there's a big disaster in my home country," he added.

According to SunSport, this is not the first time the forward has been involved in this form of charity work as he donated about £70,000 to the South Korean armies after his his success in the Asian Games earlier this year.

Menwhile, Spurs fans want the him to be named Premier League Player of the Year after registering 12 goals and six assists in 27 appearances.
