The stage is set for the Murangá Gubernatorial debate Thursday night at 9:50 PM live on KBC Channel 1.
The debate brings together about 6 aspirants seeking to succeed Governor Mwangi Wa Iria who is completing his second term.
Invited guests as well as respective supporters have congregated at Murangá University in Murangá town in readiness for the debate.
The debate offers Murangá residents an opportunity to interact and scrutinize their aspirants in an interactive show anchored by KBC TV senior news anchor John Jacob Kioria who will be assisted by senior reporter Nancy Okware.
It is the second such debate after the a similar one held in Machakos County last week.
The contest brings together current Senator Irungu Kang’ata, Former MP Jamleck Kamau, Politician Dr. Moses Mwangi, Joseph Mbai, Joseph Wairagu Irungu among other contestants.
Kangáta is the UDA party aspirant for the position while Kamau will fly the Jubilee party flag.
Nyakera is vying on a Farmers party ticket, Mwangi is the Safina aspirant, Wairagu on DP ticket while Mbai is the Usawa Kwa Wote aspirant.
Murang’a County is one of the counties of Kenya’s former Central Province with its Headquarters in Murang’a town.
The county has a population of 1,056,640 (2019 census) and covers a total area of 2,325.8 km SQ.
