State House visit splits Kajiado leaders – Weekly Citizen

The move by Uhuru Kenyatta to invite Kajiado leaders to State House has left the county politically bleeding. The meeting was aimed at healing political wounds that were inflicted following the 2017 general elections.
For now, governor Joseph Ole Lenku is accused of playing hit and run style of politics. To survive, the governor has been befriending political enemies of his sworn or perceived enemies and sidelining those seen not to be dancing to his political tunes.
Weekly Citizen has established that during the recent meeting with Uhuru, Ole Lenku made sure that leaders opposed to him were blocked from meeting the head of state.
The State House meeting was to bring on board all leaders from the county since Uhuru himself had invited them.
Sidelined were Kajiado Central MP Elijah Memusi and his Kajiado East counterpart Peris Tobiko. The duo does not see eye-to-eye with Ole Lenku
