Two Tanzanians were arrested along Lake Victoria on Tuesday night as they were smuggling bhang into the country.

The two, Annah Mwisawa, 34, and Jackson Josephat, 20, were found in possession of the narcotic at Remba Island, Suba North constituency.

The two were nabbed by Administration Police patrolling lake Victoria after they were alerted by members of the public.

The two managed to travel to Remba Island and hurriedly offloaded the drugs from the boat and temporarily hid them in a deserted house on the island.

Area OCPD Charles Mwangi said the suspects were taken to Mbita police station.
