- The centre-back has struggled with knee and ankle injuries since his move to Old Trafford three years ago
Manchester United defender Eric Bailly on Thursday, July 25, appeared to have suffered another injury setback after being stretchered off during his side's 2-1 pre-season friendly win over Tottenham.
The Ivorian was limited to just 18 appearances in all competitions last season as his campaign was punctuated with ankle and knee injuries.
Bailly was among the 11 substitutes introduced at half-time in the clash played in Shanghai, China, replacing Chris Smalling.
However, his introduction lasted just about 10 minutes, with the defender appearing to twist his knee as he attempted to stop Spurs' Heung-Min Son from taking a shot at goal.
Bailly went on to receive treatment that saw him manage a few minutes on his feet before calling for the stretcher.
Youngster Axel Tuanzebe who was impressive in Saturday's win over Inter, was brought on in Bailly's place.
Meanwhile, Bailly's injury did not stop United from claiming victory over their Premier League rivals, with goals from Anthony Martial and Angel Gomes rendering Lucas Moura's goal a mere consolation.
