Public transport was paralysed on Monday morning along the Kasarani—Mwiki Road after matatu operators went on strike to protest the poor state of roads in the area.
Commuters were forced to walk over 5 kilometres way to Thika Road amid the rainy weather.
The protesting matatu operators blocked the Kasarani– Mwiki Road at Sunton area using stones and burning tyres preventing even private cars from accessing the road.
They are demanding for its immediate repair.
