Friday January 25, 2019 - President Uhuru Kenyatta made history at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters when he visited on Friday.
According to the police, Uhuru becomes the first Head of State to have visited the department since its inception. Speaking at the DCI Headquarters, Uhuru stated that his tour of the establishment was in honour of the men and women in service who have been at the forefront in the fight against corruption. "I congratulate DCI and DPP officers for the work they have done so far, but we must continue to do more," Uhuru told the sleuths.
He maintained that individuals who choose to live outside the rule of law must be dealt with firmly.
Uhuru also announced that the Government was keen to support the modernization of the National Police Service and that of the Office of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions. "As we do all to support you, we will also be firm and hostile to officers who misuse their positions at the expense of Kenyans, the taxpayers who pay taxes for us to get our salaries," warned Uhuru.The Kenyan DAILY POST
